At DSA, we are driven to help create a smarter and cleaner energy future, and we are always looking for talented professionals who share our passion for achieving this goal. We use causal and predictive analytics to assess how new technologies and interventions affect energy use, operations, and grid planning.
We are growing fast and are looking for candidates with strong quantitative skills and demonstrated interest in working at the intersection of analytics, data, energy, policy, and economics. We empower skilled, creative, and knowledgeable people to generate data-driven insights into how we can transition from fossil-fuels to a renewable-based power grid.
The work is not easy, but the rewards of solving challenges, the opportunities to grow from your experiences, and the pride from driving our mission forward will be worth it. If you are looking for a team that will welcome your unique experience and ideas while providing opportunities for growth, we would love to hear from you.
These positions will work closely with senior staff to produce high-quality analyses, tools, reports, and presentations for our clients, solving pressing questions about the future of the electric grid and natural gas distribution network in North America.
Day to day activities include data cleaning, analysis, and results reporting for a variety of projects, generally including but not limited to:
- Impact evaluation of energy efficiency and behavioral interventions
- Evaluations of smart technologies designed to reduce peak demand, including smart-thermostats and time-varying rates
- Forecasting of distribution-level electric loads
- Granular forecasting of energy efficiency, demand response, solar, electric vehicle, and battery storage
- Identifying grid locations where resources to manage demand deliver high value, and quantifying that locational value
Candidates will also support business development with proposal writing and have exposure to clients on a regular basis. We are headquartered in Atlanta and the San Francisco Bay Area but are open to a remote position for the right candidate. We provide co-working office space for staff when the local COVID-19 situation permits. We prefer candidates for the analyst positions to be in Atlanta or the Bay Area so that face-to-face training, meetings, and project work is possible once it is safe to do so. Candidates must be comfortable working independently and be able to manage multiple priorities and projects at once. Successful candidates will also have excellent written and oral communication skills and are comfortable explaining complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
